~Because You Believed~

Always willing to lend a hand
asking nothing in return.
Offering encouragement
when there seemed too much to learn.

Every time I said "I can't"
you laughed and assured me I could.
When I sighed "I'll never learn"
you replied of course I would.

Your encouragement ... and cajoling ...
your nurturing, gentle way
Inspired me to persevere
you were there each step of the way.

It was at times, discouraging,
frustrating as could be
But in the end I achieved my goal
because You believed in me
